Takeshi Kaji

          At Columbia, Takeshi edited academic articles and contributed his own fiction writing for The Birch, the campus journal of Eastern Europe and Eurasian culture. He is also the recipient of Columbia’s prestigious Joshua A. Feigenbaum Prize in Literature Humanities, a Core Curriculum award for excellence in literary scholarship. After graduating cum laude (“with honor”) from Columbia University with a degree in Human Evolutionary Biology, Takeshi brought his talent for writing and scientific inquiry at Gartner’s Research Board, an international think tank specializing in enterprise information technology. As part of the research team, Takeshi compiled and edited reports on the state of the enterprise IT industry for Chief Information Officers of the world’s largest corporations.

 

 

          In addition to English, Takeshi knows Swedish, French, Russian, and Japanese. He translated Swedish, French, and Russian documents for the Columbia University Tutoring and Translating Agency. During four years of college, he tutored college students French, algebra, and calculus. Takeshi also spent a year teaching introductory science classes to middle school students at the Lang Youth Medical Program at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. His own diverse interests and experiences have given him an appreciation for each individual’s unique intellectual curiosities, which he applies in his work with his students.
